Welcome!

The United Methodist Church welcomes all people with open hearts, open minds and open doors. This District is located in Northern, NJ, and is a part of The Greater New Jersey Conference of The United Methodist Church.  Under the leadership of District Superintendent Dr. Robert E. Costello, Gateway North is the most culturally diverse district of United Methodism. Gateway North District Churches and leaders reach beyond their own churches and communities to show concern
and share compassion with their neighbors.

This district is dedicated to working cooperatively with others regardless of
differences in race, ethnicity, economic status and culture to actively make
disciples for Christ. The Gateway North approach to spreading the love, gospel
and work of Jesus Christ with others is to "treat others the way we would want
them to treat us
". Following this motto, the Gateway North District participates in
the struggles of the oppressed, the alleviation of discrimination in any form and
the war against inequality in the economy, society and the church.

This web site was created in the spirit of love to reach out to others so that they can learn about our district ministries, get involved in outreach programs, submit prayer request and find where our churches are.

I believe in Jesus by Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño is the story of Christian faith. The underlying theme is how a living faith in Jesus the Christ transforms individuals and communities.

This is a study about “faith seeking understanding,” as St. Anselm, a medieval theologian would say. It is not about knowledge seeking understanding.

The story of faith is an individual as well as collective story in its varied and disparate contexts. This story seeks, struggles and finds clues to the nature of God, and the needs of the neighbor. The centrality of one’s own faith story and the hospitality toward the faith stories of others are key components of this study.

Invitation to Taize Pilgrimage

PRAYER FOR SOUTH DARFUR, SUDAN

God of many waters, thank you for the opportunity to serve. Remind us that all the children of Sudan are our children too. We pray in the name of Jesus, who showed us the way to living water. Amen.
