Tina Van Horn
Tina Van Horn
Argentina "Tina" Van Horn, Gateway North District Administrative Assistant, was called to a first-hand experience of God's resurrection power, on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. She is the loving mother of Reverend Linda Van Horn of South Bend, IN and Gloria Bianco & son-in-law Roger Bianco of Cedar Grove, NJ. She is the cherished grandmother of Alyssa, Sara & Nicholas.
Tina was born in Cuba and came to this country when she married Albert Van Horn, Jr., who pre-deceased her in 1970. For the last several years she worked as the Administrative Assistant for the Gateway North Greater NJ Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Tina has been a very active member of the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church for 40 years, acting as the chairperson of many of the church's committees such as the Church Council, Pastor-Parish Relations and Benevolence Treasurer. She has been a long-time member of the United Methodist Women and has served in numerous capacities as officer of the local, district, and conference chapters. She has been a Member of the Annual Conference and was a Certified Lay Speaker. She has recently served as a member of the District Committee on Ministry.
Friends will be received at a viewing on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Stellato Funeral Home, 423 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071
The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11AM at the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church, 250 Stuyvescent Avenue, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
The interment will take place at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652, with a repast at the church, immediately following the services.
Donations may be made to the Tina Van Horn Memorial Fund at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church, 250 Stuyvesant Avenue, Lyndhurst NJ 07071. I would ask each church in our district to consider sending a generous contribution in memory of our Sister in Christ. Condolences may be sent to her family, at the church address.
Please pray for an outpouring of God's comforting Spirit in this time of grief. Especially remember Tina's family and her close friends at Lyndhurst Church. She was a wonderful woman of faith, grace, humor, dedication, and loyalty. Countless people will miss her.
When we gather in her church on Saturday, we will feel the loss, but we will remember the hope and joy that is ours, through the power of God's grace. It will be a time for our extended family to gather together to share a celebration of Jesus's resurrection power.
Thanks for making a difference in one another's lives!
